How can you ad publisher markup to your website?

This is a good idea so that your Company logo can be added to search results. This feature will prove to be invaluable to encourage searchers to click on your search result. Having a logo or image next to a search result is expected to improve the click through rate by over a 100%.

  1.  Set up a Google place page for your company or local business
  2.  Add your business logo to your Google place page
  3.  Link it to your website from your place page
  4.  Link from your website back to your place page
<a href="https://plus.google.com/[yourpageID]"
rel="publisher">Find us on Google+</a>

For your logo to show up in search results, you can use schema.org markup, which is recognized by major search engines as a way to explain your site structure. These Schemas enable the search engines to highlight the type of information that the searcher is looking for in the search results.

Google has a wonderful tool to help anyone adjust the code in their websites to make use of this in Google's webmaster tools at this link: https://www.google.com/webmasters/markup-helper/u/0/?hl=en
